Hello!
Thank you so much for volunteering for Art Smart this year. We know we have quite a few new volunteers to Art Smart, so please do not worry as we are here to help with anything you need! Our in-person meeting explaining the ins and outs of Art Smart is set for Tuesday, September 27th at 9am in Joyce Hall. We are fortunate to have almost everything you need on this website thanks to our very organized and tech savvy previous Art Smart Chairs. If you prefer to work off hard copies, we have that as well. Materials, lesson plans and art prints can be found for each lesson in the Art Smart closet located on the second floor right next to the south entrance staircase. You will need to ask Ashley Augustyniak in the office for the Art Smart key to access the closet. Prints and lessons are organized by grade level and month. The project materials are organized on the shelves. We ask that you return everything back to its correct place after you are done. In some instances, you may be handing the prints off to another Art Smart volunteer in the other grade level classroom if the Art Smart times run consecutively. The prints cannot leave the building, you may take a lesson plan home as long as you return it when you are finished. If you want to add anything you find beneficial to any of the lessons, please let us know by sending us a little write up and example so we can update the website and plans. Art Smart is a fun way to expose our children to beautiful works of Art and talented Artists. The students love to have visitors in their classroom and for the most part love art. It is meant to be fun for both the students and volunteers, so make sure to have fun with it! Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions!
